Career[]
Sister Harriet is a Catholic Nun and Midwife at The Knick, running the hospitals orphanage. Along with Tom Cleary she operates an after-hours abortion service, to help woman end unwanted pregnancies. Sister Harriet is surprised when Tom brings Cornelia Robertson (Showalter) to her, in need of an abortion after spending the night with Algernon Edwards. The operation is shut down when she goes alone to perform an abortion and discovers it is a trap. She finds herself disowned by the woman who brought her into the Catholic church and facing a lengthy jail sentence.
Personal Life[]
Informally as Harry by her friends, the nun is a well liked member of staff at the hospital. When she finds herself in the docks, facing a jail sentence for performing illegal abortions, Tom Cleary hires a lawyer in a bid to free the disgraced nun.
